The AMA essay format, which is based on the manual of style that was published by the Oxford Press, is quite complex and includes numerous intricate details. One of the more complicated AMA style rules concerns AMA format “bibliography citations”. What exactly is a “bibliography citation”? In simple terms, it is a single reference to the author’s book or article. AMA style rules also require that a specific format is followed for each of the bibliographies that are listed in a journal.
The first section of the AMA essay is called the introduction, and it should clearly describe the nature of this journal and its purpose. It should also be noted that many of the articles published in this journal have been submitted by former residents who are no longer on the faculty. Many of these former residents have returned to their home countries after the conclusion of their academic careers and, in most cases, they are now professors of English language at universities.
The second section of the essay style guide is called the body, and this section is comprised of four paragraphs (two main paragraphs, and two appendices). The first paragraph will be called the introduction, while the second paragraph will be known as the body. Each of these paragraphs will contain two paragraphs of direct quotations, and one paragraph of an indirect quotation (unless the journal has specified the method of citation in its masthead or in the Author notes page of the edited volume).
The third paragraph of the body is known as the chapters, and it is composed of five paragraphs. The first paragraph of each of these paragraphs will contain a quotation that has been properly quoted from the journal in question, and the second paragraph will contain a quotation that has not been properly quoted but is of equal importance to the subject matter discussed in the journal article. The last paragraph of each of the paragraphs in the body is called the conclusion, and it is also composed of two paragraphs of direct quotation. The first paragraph of this paragraph contains a quotation that has not been correctly quoted, while the second paragraph contains a quotation that was wrongly quoted.
The fourth paragraph of this section is called the conclusion, and this is also the last paragraph of the journal article. It is the conclusion of a discussion (with the author’s name being placed at the end of the discussion). The author’s name may also be placed at the end of a chapter; however, the author’s name should never appear in the journal itself.
The fifth paragraph of the body is called the bibliography, and it consists of only one paragraph of the same length as the article. and is referred to at the end of each bibliography in the journal article. If the journal is an encyclopedic journal, then there is a single long bibliography; however, if the journal is a monograph journal, then there is a single long bibliography for the entire volume of the journal.
The sixth paragraph is called the conclusion, and this is the conclusion of a discussion in the journal and of an article. A concluding paragraph in any of the other style guides does not contain a quotation. It is a single sentence that summarizes the discussion that occurred in the journal.
As previously stated, the AMA style guide requires that the journal provides the author with a statement of purpose at the end of each section of an article. When an author wishes to include a personal statement at the end of their article, they are allowed only one such statement, even though one is allowed in the other style guides. This statement must be typed out in the following format: “To whom it may concern, I am writing to ask you to thank you for reading this article. I thank you for reading my article.”
